Dell Lifecycle Controller Integration for SCVMM Help

Device inventory

From this page you can discover unassigned servers. The compliance status confirms that the servers contain the minimum versions of Lifecycle Controller firmware, iDRAC, and BIOS that are required to work with DLCI for SCVMM.

NOTE: To correlate a host server that belongs to a cluster and is present in a chassis, see cluster FQDN and chassis service tag.
Discover

Use to discover Dell servers. For prerequisites information on the iDRAC versions, see the DLCI for SCVMM User’s Guide.

For more information about discovering servers, see Discover.

RefreshRefresh to view the latest inventory information.
DeleteDelete a server. Also, you can delete multiple servers.

You can delete the unassigned servers and host servers as follows:

  • You can delete an unassigned server that is not provisioned in SCVMM.
  • If a server is provisioned in SCVMM and present in DLCI for SCVMM, first delete the server from SCVMM, and then delete the server from DLCI for SCVMM.

Synchronize with SCVMMSynchronize all Hyper-V hosts, Hyper-V host clusters, and modular Hyper-V host information between SCVMM, and DLCI for SCVMM by using default iDRAC credentials. When you start this task, the task takes considerable time based on the number of servers and server components present.

Synchronization process uses the default credential profile.

NOTE:

When SCVMM is installed on a server whose Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) is not configured in SCVMM, and the server’s iDRAC IP address is not available, then SCVMM does not synchronize with the appliance. Before synchronization, configure iDRAC in the server, and then synchronize the appliance with SCVMM.

Unassigned servers In this tab, view the following information:
iDRAC IPView the IP address of the Integrated Dell Remote Access Controller (iDRAC) that is present in the Dell PowerEdge server.
Server IdentifierView the service tags that are assigned to servers. Service tag is a unique identifier assigned to a server.
Chassis Service TagView the service tag of the chassis that encloses the blade server.

This field is blank for a rack server.
